Job Summary:

We are seeking a strong IBM DB2 Administrator to support a large-scale enterprise environment that handles millions of data transactions daily. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing maintaining and optimizing DB2 databases with a proven ability to perform database administration activities independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform installation configuration and maintenance of IBM DB2 databases.
Manage database backups restores and recovery processes ensuring high availability and data integrity.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of queries indexes and database structures.
Implement and monitor database security policies user access controls and auditing.
Perform routine monitoring and troubleshooting of DB2 systems to ensure smooth operations.
Support database migration upgrade and patching activities.
Develop and maintain database documentation including architecture configurations and procedures.
Collaborate with application infrastructure and support teams to ensure optimal database performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5 years of hands-on experience as a DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) in large-scale production environments.
Strong understanding of DB2 architecture SQL optimization and data recovery techniques.
Proficiency in backup rollback and performance monitoring tools.
Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery (HADR) setups.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell Python etc.) preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and handle production-critical environments.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with cloud-based DB2 deployments (AWS Azure IBM Cloud).
Familiarity with automation and DevOps tools for database operations.
IBM Certified Database Administrator certification is a plus.
