Why SLP
The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (SLP) is a fast-track rotational program that is an integrated process for accelerating the development of our future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with Information Technology internship experience and a relevant business degree who have a passion for a long term career in Information Technology.

IT SLPs work infour 6-month rotationsin different facilities across the United States or in unique cases internationally. Each rotation has project assignments that allow participants to become familiar with how we do business and contribute to the success of that business.. Our program offers invaluable experiences for early-career associates seeking challenging developmental opportunities to jump-start their careers.

The Job:

As a part of the SLP program youll be part of our Information Technology team. Youll get to

  • Conduct business process analyses needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

  • Work with business users to define and analyze problems and align the most suitable technical application or configuration solutions.

  • Solicit develop document and manage requirements and provide detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout the project life cycle up to and through change control.

  • Review system test plans and system tests modules before implementation.

  • Create review and deliver end-user documentation (user guide process flow charts training materials) and training for accuracy.

  • In upgrades monitor production performance enhancements and system integrity with end-users.

  • Develop detailed implementation and upgrade project plans in conjunction with other account team associates.

  • Ensure that documentation is updated when change requests are approved for the project.

  • Provide input on processes procedures or new approaches.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement monitor and optimize AI-driven solutions leveraging advanced analytics and automation tools to enhance business processes and drive innovation within the organization.

The Person:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Business Information System Management Information Systems Computer/ Information Science or a related field.

  • Knowledge of basic principles methods technologies and practices of a professional/technical field.

  • Basic knowledge of system development methodology project management system architecture and analytical/problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated leadership experience. Able to execute with the highest degree of integrity and accountability.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business beginning with the shop floor and ending with senior management.

  • Self-motivated individual who strives for excellence and continuous improvement through the use of analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience using various computer applications including Microsoft Excel Access and other applications included in the Microsoft Office Suite.

The Details:

  • Must be willing to rotate work assignments projects and teams every 6-12 months throughout the program. Relocation for a minimum of one rotation may be required.

  • This hybrid role will begin in either New Britain CT or Towson MD.

The base pay range for this position in Maryland and Connecticut is $50500- $90900 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position offered.
