Advances in AI data and computational sciences are transforming drug discovery and development. Roches Research and Early Development organisations at Genentech (gRED) and Pharma (pRED) have demonstrated how these technologies accelerate R&D leveraging data and novel computational models to drive impact. Seamless data sharing and access to models across gRED and pRED are essential to maximising these opportunities. The new computational sciences Center of Excellence (CoE) is a strategic unified group whose goal is to harness this transformative power of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist our scientists in both pRED and gRED to deliver more innovative and transformative medicines for patients worldwide.

Within the CoE organisation the Data and Digital Catalyst (DDC) organisation drives the modernisation of our computational and data ecosystems and integration of digital technologies across Research and Early Development to enable our stakeholders power data-driven science and accelerate decision-making.

The Opportunity

The Scientific Content Team as part of the DDC- Data capability is responsible for providing the data platforms for compliant and streamlined access to Roches extensive collection of scientific content such as literature text data. These products play a central role in enabling data-driven innovation in research development and translational sciences across Roche Group. The Scientific Content Data Expert role is evolving defined by strategic demands and dynamic compliance requirements around data security integration and harmonization. This role is key to leading and expanding upon the following critical activities:

In this role you will :

  • Curate and FAIRify data through cleaning parsing disambiguation deduplication of Roches scientific content aligned with FAIR principles license obligations or according to internal guidelines.

  • Manage and Scale Scientific Content platforms such as full-text MongoDB database with GraphQL API access.

  • Develop Vector Stores and collaborate with key partners to build a central store for AI-driven knowledge extraction.

  • Improve quality of data deliverables and manage the vendor portfolio.

  • Support and onboard internal users to the Scientific Content platforms.

  • Harmonize terminology and link literature and scientific data via unified metadata management.

  • Deliver results of Search & Document collections across Roche Business units in time and quality as agreed with partners.

Who You Are:

  • You hold a B.S. in Biomedical or a related engineering field with a strong understanding of biomedical environments.
    You bring over 3 years of experience in data engineering management integration and FAIRification with proven expertise in database development and Python scripting.

  • You bring hands-on expertise in text analytics mining TDM and LLMs along with knowledge of biological pathways networks and OMICS data formats.
    You bring proficiency in high-performance computing environments to process and analyze large-scale scientific and biomedical datasets.

  • You bring a solid grasp of scientific literature and other text-based data enabling advanced analytics and effective knowledge extraction.
