Job Summary

We now have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Security Settlements Team based in Baltimore Maryland. The North American Security Settlements team is a group of 40 on-shore FTE as well as 24 additional vendor staff based off-shore.

The core responsibility of Security Settlements in the Americas is the clearance and settlement of Fixed Income and Equity Securities for all Americas markets. The group facilitates the receipt and delivery of securities on trades executed with clients or broker-dealers and liaises with counterparties agents BRM Prime Brokerage and other operational stakeholders to monitor depots manage deficits and mitigate risk associated with failing settlement obligations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include:
- Develop product and process knowledge relating to daily responsibilities
- Effectively meeting daily deadlines as determined by specific responsibilities within department.
- Identify and mitigate risk posed to the Firm through timely escalation to management
- Develop working relationships with peers and operational stakeholders
- Ensure internal control and external regulatory compliance policies and their impacts are understood and adhered to i.e. segregation of duties money-laundering rules exchange deadlines etc.
- Continuously look for business process improvements. Ability to provide accurate and timely responses to inquiries

Ability to work in a structured high volume and time sensitive environment

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Attention to details and with strong risk awareness

Strong verbal and written business communication skills

Basic accounting skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word and PowerPoint)

Knowledge of Equity and/or Fixed Income products and settlement market rules is a plus but not required

Salary range for the position: $58000 - $62000 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
