What will you do

A day in the life of a Wholesale Planning Manager at Vans looks a little like this.

The Wholesale Planning Manager works alongside the Wholesale Sales Team and Wholesale Merchandising team to quantify the sell-in strategy the execution of the sell-in in-season management tactics and post-season analysis to deliver a sales and inventory experience that meets the needs of both the Vans Customer as well as our Wholesale partners in the Americas.

Lets break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Wholesale Assortment Revenue Strategy Leads strategic forecasting from LRP to in-season to post-season ensuring optimal assortment positioning across Americas Wholesale Accounts.
  • Analyzing sales to flag sales and inventory risks and opportunities to meet the needs of the Vans consumers as well as maximizing sell-out revenue for our Wholesale partners
  • Sales Performance and Demand Planning analyze sell-out sales data market trends and consumer insights to re-forecast demand drive wholesale partner profitability and optimize the wholesale option width and breadth.
  • Cross-Functional and Regional Collaboration align with DTC/E-com. Marketing merchandising sales and partner accounts to ensure our partner assortments support the account strategy brand strategy market needs and seasonal plan.
  • Post-Season Meltdown analyzing sales and inventory performance to support lessons learned account meetings and influence the future assortment and financial strategy to support long-term sustainable mutual growth for both Vans and our wholesale partners.
  • Leadership Mentorship Coaching and Support of a team of Wholesale Planners.

What do you need to succeed

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role there are foundation skills youll need to succeed and excel. Additionally while formal education in a related field is great to have we are most interested in your 6 years of experience in either merchandise DTC wholesale or demand planning and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • High degree of emotional intelligence & communication skills (needed in order to foster a collaborative team environment build strong relationships and resolve disagreements with candor)
  • Strategic vision (ability to articulate a clear long-term strategy rooted in business and planning acumen historical analysis and understanding of the marketplace and brand vision)
  • Cross-functional Communication at all levels including senior leadership.
  • Strong Analytical skills with expertise in demand forecasting inventory management and financial modeling in both excel and merchandise financial planning tools.
  • Consumer insight and empathy (deep understanding of consumer needs trends and local cultural nuances and how they translate into a planning quantification.
  • Understanding the tactics to drive revenue and profitability growth in a global multi-channel retail environment including but not limited to wholesale partners.
  • Experience working with diverse markets with a strong understanding of regional differences in retail and consumer behavior.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • Bachelors degree in Business Finance or a related fields; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with merchandise planning tools and technologies (eg: ERP BI or AI-driven analytics platforms)
  • Strong background in digital commerce and omnichannel planning strategies.

$99360.00 USD - $124200.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan sales incentive orcommissionpotential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
