The role
Love creating unforgettable experiences in iconic spaces As Head of Events and Venues youll lead a dynamic team across the Botanic Gardens of Sydney to deliver high-impact events and venue activationsfrom major public celebrations like NYE to bespoke community gatherings. Youll drive commercial success while ensuring every visitor interaction reflects the Gardens values and vision.

This role is all about balancing creativity logistics and strategy. Youll manage complex operations across multiple sites navigate high-profile client needs and lead a team that thrives on collaboration agility and customer focusall while keeping safety sustainability and profitability front and centre.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven experience managing venues and large-scale outdoor events including crowd traffic and risk management
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse teams in high-pressure environments
  • Ability to develop and deliver commercial strategies that drive revenue and community engagement
  • Confidence in negotiating contracts and licensing agreements within government or similar settings
  • Advanced project management financial oversight and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to foster a responsive collaborative team culture
  • Strong communication problem-solving and planning skills to navigate complex high-profile challenges



What is an essential requirement:

  • Ability to work and/or be contactable outside of normal work hours during holiday periods and on weekends.
