Job Summary

The Automation Engineer brings technical experience in implementing and improving Automated Material Handling Systems and Technology within the fulfillment network. This role works closely with functional stakeholders vendors and other engineers to solve problems and reduce fulfillment costs.

You will

Interface with external vendors and system integrators to design automated order fulfillment solutions. Work with top industry technology such as AMRs Robotics ASRS sortation systems etc.
Take the lead on designing distribution facilities including new facilities facility retrofits conveyor changes and other material handling equipment (MHE) changes.
Identify define and implement process improvement opportunities.
Work with cross-functional team members to ensure their business needs are met by new system designs.
Become a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all engineering processes and technology within the fulfillment network.
Optimize Distribution Center layouts material flows Automation equipment etc.
Support business case justification for new technology CapEx purchases and process enhancements.
Leverage GenAI to automate time consuming tasks and improve internal processes.

You are

Data-oriented and able to gather data to guide decision making and find opportunities for improvement.
Experienced in equipment selection design standards performance improvement statistics.
Able to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
Able to analyze and provide solutions for cost reduction through automation implementation and cost/benefit analysis.
A superior multi-tasker and have the ability to meet concurrent project deadlines.
Known for delivering polished high quality presentations and reports that influence and accelerate business decision making
Able to travel up to 25% peaking up to 50% during project implementations.

You have

BS Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or similar field required.
2 years of engineering experience in multi-site industrial distribution manufacturing or processing environments.
AutoCAD proficiency required
Experience scoping and/or implementing automated equipment to reduce labor error rate and/or process inefficiencies.
Experience with using Warehouse Control Systems (WCS/WES) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Experience with Warehouse Conveyance (Right Angle Transfers MDR Sortation Spirals etc.) including working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and an ability to understand how equipment and systems operate.
Excellent interpersonal skills professional attitude and approach (and the ability to interact with individuals at various levels of the organization up and down).

You will
