The District Sales Executive orchestrates involvement of multiple people in our Sales process so that new customer revenue is consistently secured for our district office and Expeditors network. The role is focused on attracting closing local accounts and ensuring continual business growth within the District.
Tasks and Duties
- Achieve District / company revenue and sales objectives per company established expectations
- Drive sales growth through prospecting by cold calling planning and conducting face-to-face meetings with potential customers
- Make 50 sales calls every month
- Make required number of joint calls
- Meet required individual budgets
- Manage an assigned territory and demonstrate extensive knowledge of potential customers and competitors in this area
- Timely data entry in our Customer Relationship Management tool
- Build relationships with Customer & collaborate with regional team Geo and Knowledge Management resources
- Create value-added solutions for customers logistics needs including Network Diagrams & Cost benefit solutions
- Own Credit setup process with new customers onboard
- Support the transition of new accounts through customer introductions information transfer and securing any necessary customer paperwork. When needed support AR (accounts receivable) collection.
- Attend training & development sessions to continue developing selling skills and updating Expeditors Product and Service knowledge
- Involvement in local trade groups as directed by the DSM
- Have diversified sales pipeline across verticals & Expeditors service
- Take on additional assignments as required supporting company needs
Physical Demands
- Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse phone fax/copy/scan machine etc.
- Write with pencil/pen/marker
- Functions performed primarily while seated at desk
Qualifications :
- Ability to meet with customers off-site on a regular basis
- Oral and written proficiency in the English language
- Sense of urgency for goal achievement
- Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong rapport and relationship-building focused
- Strong problem solving organizational and interpersonal skills
- Empowered to make quick decisions in response to changing conditions
- Influences others to action
- Timeliness and accountability for results
- Presentation skills
- Ability to work productively both individually and in a team environment
- Global logistics industry knowledge (Preferred)
- Sales experience in the required market (Preferred)
