Job Summary
This position supports the operations of the Department of Sport Management including the following: providing clerical support to the chair and faculty members in the department; tracking curriculum and curriculum changes assisting in ensuring University academic policies are followed; assisting with transfer students; assisting students faculty and the chairs with drop/add exceptions waivers etc.; collecting internship materials and assisting in processing information related to credit-bearing internships; entering the facultys travel request and expense reports; tracking and monitoring the budget including entering purchase requisitions; retrieving and updating data in the enterprise systems such as MyKU-Banner D2L Employee Self-Service; composition of letters; maintaining the department web page and social media; and the other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
This position deals directly with students faculty staff and the public; therefore you must have:
- Exemplary communication skills via mail phone in-person and online
- Experience in a diverse work environment
- Ability to work well independently and as a team member
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to organize work and develop effective work methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
- Proficiency in meeting planning and minutes taking
Applicants must also be detail orientated efficient highly reliable and able to exercise initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secretarial experience
- Experience with customer service focus
- Experience with confidential information
- Experience in events/meetings planning
- Experience in working with diverse population
- Proficient in website management and social media
