Each year 140M children are born. Birth defects affect 1 in 33 births in developed countries and in 50% of cases they are not detected during prenatal examinations. Prenatal medicine is particularly complex and the scans impose heavy responsibilities on healthcare professionals. They can also be a source of stress for future parents.
Resulting from 5 years of collaboration between world-renowned experts from Necker Hospital and Ecole Polytechnique Sonio uses artificial intelligence to improve prenatal screening and diagnosis. Based on patented algorithms and a proprietary expert database Sonio aims to become the reference tool to help practitioners improve screening reduce diagnostic errors and optimize pregnant womens medical path.
Sonios mission is to improve womens and childrens health by promoting access and quality of care through technological innovation medical expertise and collective intelligence.
About the role
As Chief of Staff Intern you will work directly with our Chief of Staff Finance and Executive team on a wide range of strategic and cross-functional initiatives. This internship is a unique opportunity to gain a 360 view of how a mission-driven fast-growing company operates and makes decisions.
Youll play a key role in three major areas:
Company Strategy Finance & Governance
Prepare strategic materials for key stakeholders (e.g. board meetings investor updates reporting).
Support strategy definition w/ financial insights enabling profitability-driven decision making.
Contribute to the internal strategic planning and financial projections processes: business plan OKRs company-wide meetings and rituals.
Impact Strategy
Help design and develop impact-focused initiatives especially in collaboration with African universities and social business partners.
Build and structure meaningful partnerships and identify practical opportunities to deliver impact aligned with the companys mission.
Cross-functional Initiatives
Contribute to improving ****financial monitoring and processes impacting all companys teams and activities.
Carry out in-depth market studies and business case requiring cross-team insights and collaboration.
Relationship management with professional and regulatory organizations.
About the profile
Sonio is a mission-driven company so interest in our mission is critical. Other requirements are:
Currently pursuing a Masters degree (gap year or final year) in business strategy or finance with previous experience of a 6-month internship.
You are able to understand and synthesize complex environments and strategic topics w/ an ability to step back on your analysis.
Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset youre comfortable using Excel and building complex models to make sense of intricate topics.
Proficient in PowerPoint you know how to present ideas clearly and convincingly as well as how to structure a narrative around a specific business topic.
Curious adaptable and truly impact-driven.
Autonomous proactive and not afraid to take initiatives.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
