The Family Centre for Research with Ubuntu (FAMCRU) is based in Tygerberg Hospital and runs under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University (SU). The goal is to promote Good Clinical Practice by educating coordinating collaborating and providing expertise in support of investigational trials at FAMCRU.

Die Gesinsentrum vir Navorsing met Ubuntu (FAMCRU) is in die Tygerberg hospitaal gebaseer en word onder die vaandel van die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) se Fakulteit van Geneeskunde en Gesondheidswetenskappe bestuur.

Duties/Pligte

Providing leadership for the research team.
Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and research forms.
Ensuring that ethical requirements are fulfilled.
Interacting with the principal investigator and other investigators to ensure the fulfilment of project goals.
Interacting with study auditors.
Assisting with the planning of the project to achieve the outlined goals and objectives.
Managing both medical and non-medical staff.
Collecting data for reporting back to sponsors.
Performing all the managerial functions of the project.
Reporting to sponsors about the progress of the project.
Managing all sponsor enquiries.
Managing the operational needs of the site including the health and safety requirements.

Verseker dat daar aan etiese vereistes voldoen word.

Bestuur van beide mediese en nie-mediese personeel.
Versamel data vir terugrapportering aan borge.
Uitvoering van al die bestuursfunksies van die projek.
Rapporteer aan borge oor die vordering van die projek.
Bestuur alle borgnavrae.
Bestuur van die operasionele behoeftes van die perseel insluitend die gesondheids- en veiligheidsvereistes.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

Nursing or related qualification BCur degree or a four-year nursing diploma or BPharm degree.
Four years research experience in infectious diseases and/or HIV.
Three years experience as a project manager or study coordinator.
Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
Computer literacy.
The ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
Management experience in a research environment.
Regulatory experience is of paramount importance.
A valid drivers licence to visit rural sites.
The ability to develop and maintain a good working climate among the study personnel.

Verpleegkunde of verwante kwalifikasie BCur-graad of n vierjarige verpleegdiploma of BPharm-graad.
Vierjaar-navorsingservaring in aansteeklike siektes en/of MIV.
Driejaar se ervaring as n projekbestuurder of studiekordineerder.
Uitstekende administratiewe en organisatoriese vaardighede.
Rekenaargeletterdheid.
Die vermo om goed binne n span sowel as onafhanklik te werk.
Bestuurservaring in n navorsingsomgewing.
Regulatoriese ervaring is van kardinale belang.
n Geldige rybewys om landelike terreine/gebiede te besoek.
Die vermo om n goeie werksklimaat onder die studiepersoneel te ontwikkel en te handhaaf.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

A background in paediatric or perinatal HIV.
An interest in the community and research skills development.
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) experience.

Agtergrond in pediatriese of perinatale MIV.
n Belangstelling in die gemeenskap en navorsingsvaardigheidsontwikkeling.
Ervaring in Goeie Kliniese Praktyk (GCP).
