Job Summary

Our client is recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to manage and grow sales performance within a defined region. The role focuses on leading sales teams driving revenue growth ensuring call compliance strengthening key customer relationships and delivering consistent performance against budget within an FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor regional sales performance by tracking targets budgets and results across core product categories including Ingredients Casings and General Merchandise.
  • Support sales teams with store openings by attending client meetings preparing opening orders and quotations walking through floor plans coordinating promotions and assisting with product deliveries.
  • Participate in demonstrations promotions and marketing events while evaluating effectiveness and coordinating presenters and promotional materials with the marketing team.
  • Drive sales growth by identifying low market share customers conducting regular route visits maintaining strong relationships with platinum customers and targeting new and potential customers.
  • Increase customer value by selling the full product basket introducing new products liaising with NPD and TIC on product specifications and ensuring sales are achieved at healthy margins.
  • Review customer volumes service levels and expectations through regular client engagement and performance discussions.
  • Ensure high levels of call compliance by managing call cycle planning scheduling routes monitoring daily and weekly compliance reports and addressing gaps with Sales Representatives.
  • Lead and manage the sales team by providing ongoing guidance performance feedback and strategic direction to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Provide training and coaching to sales consultants to improve sales effectiveness customer service delivery and overall team performance.
Qualifications
  • Completed relevant tertiary qualification in Business Sales Marketing or Retail.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a Sales Supervisor or Sales Manager role.
  • Proven experience within an FMCG environment with exposure to major retail customers.
