Job Summary and Responsibilities
The incumbent sets up and operates specialized equipment to include:
- physiological data recording system
- Exercise Stress test monitor and exercise testing equipment
- Echocardiographic equipment to perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures
- also procedures required by the EKG technician including
- scheduling of patient appointments
- quality assurance
- data collection
- typing and filing of patient records.
Job Requirements
- BLS-CPR from American Heart Association.
- Basic knowledge of cardiac and human body anatomy and physiology interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias cardiopulmonary resuscitation and EKG procedures and equipment.
- General filing procedures electrical safety standards and aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates knowledge of standard echocardiographic windows in accordance with American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) criteria.
- Echo procedures and equipment to include the ability to obtain satisfactory images in the following modes: M-mode Two dimensional Pulse Wave Doppler Continuous Wave Doppler Color Wave Doppler.
Preferred
- Completion of didactic and hands-on coursework in echocardiography through an approved learning institution.
