Job Summary
Technician I Shop (Fire Equipment / Fire Extinguishers)
Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly First Shift (MondayFriday)
Occasional Overtime Available
Reports to: Shop Manager
The Technician I Shop (Fire Equipment) is responsible for the inspection servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers within Fox Valley Fire & Safetys Fire Equipment Division. This position performs assigned tasks under supervision and in accordance with NFPA standards manufacturer specifications and company procedures. The Technician I Shop supports safe efficient shop operations and consistent service delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect test recharge and hydrostatically test fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards and company requirements
- Perform assigned shop work accurately and efficiently while following established processes and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop tools equipment and inventory
- Complete required documentation and records in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist with fire extinguisher training demonstrations or customer support as directed
- Support field or emergency response activities when required and properly trained
Job Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision while managing assigned tasks independently
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fire equipment systems and processes
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to stand walk bend and work in a shop environment for extended periods
Compensation: This role offers hourly compensation paid in biweekly installments ranging from $21-22/hour based on experience.
