The Opportunity
The State Facilities Services Team is dedicated to ensuring that KIPP Texas students and staff have access to clean safe and well-maintained facilities across all our regions. As a vital member of the statewide Facilities Leadership Team the Facilities Services Supervisor Custodial will play a key role in managing custodial operations. Reporting directly to the Campus Facilities Manager (CFM) this position will oversee the custodial team and ensure the effective execution of cleaning maintenance and event setup tasks.
In this position you will be responsible for:
Supervising and supporting custodial staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
Coordinating and scheduling custodial tasks to meet the needs of all facilities.
Monitoring the quality of custodial work and implementing improvements as needed.
Ensuring that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and used efficiently.
Overseeing the setup and breakdown of events ensuring all logistics are handled smoothly.
Addressing any facility-related issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain a high-quality environment for our students and staff while also managing the complexities of event setups.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with creation implementation training and auditing campus-based processes regionally for cleaning equipment and tool inventory and 5s visual management system
Coordinate with Regional Manager to build out standard operating procedures for custodial and maintenance operations
Conduct quarterly walkthroughs of all campus facilities operations
Performing office or nonmanual work directly related to the management or general business operations
Discretion and independent judgement in all significant matters
Support the Facilities Department:
Support the work of the Facilities Department by responding to emerging regional escalations
Essential personnel position for event response communication and messaging plan
Assist with the planning and execution of regional events
Oversee social teambuilding and communication efforts within the department to build team culture.
Maintain current roster of all regional staff including information related to shirt sizes and assigned trainings
Gather all teammates birthdays and KIPP work anniversaries as soon as they join the team and at the beginning of the school year
Collaborate with the CFM to create a celebration plan and ensure a meaningful recognition of their work
Other duties as assigned.
Monitor and support with day-to-day operational services
Manage fleet vehicle processes in Houston (and as needed in other regions)
Manage law enforcement and security operations at all Houston based campuses & support safety efforts needed in other regions including managing security vendor on day to day operations
Partner with Regional Managers of Facilities to drive standardization and efficiency across the state
Conduct weekly check-ins with custodial team members via 03s and document conversations in accordance with CFMs request
Manage oversight on outsourced cleaning vendor and serve as a liaison between KIPP and outsourced custodial on all communication
Responsible for creating a centralized process and managing all ordering regionally for custodial supplies.
Partner with Campus Facilities Manager to ensure that each facility meets school operations needs
Collaborate with other departments to shift and streamline operational responsibilities as needed to accommodate growth
Cultivate and maintain relationships with School Operations team members across regions
Monitor and provide support to Campus based teams during inclement weather and crisis related events
Provide administrative or project management support to Facilities Service Team as needed
Work closely with CFM and operations team:
Gain and maintain proficiency in CMMS Event Planner and School Operations Procedures.
Manage and prepare staff and materials for meetings (90% Routine and Recurring)
Facilitate the work of the facilities teams:
Help with collecting and presenting dashboard data
Facilitate team meetings as needed in conjunction with program planning and scheduling.
Coordinate with CFM to plan out all summer floor work order all equipment and oversee entire process

3 -5 years of experience in facilities is required preferably in in an K-12 environment
English fluency is required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word and Outlook
High proficiency in Google Applications and Microsoft Suite
Experience in education and/or real estate preferred
Reliable transportation required (may be required to drive to different facilities or to pick up supplies during the workday)
Able to travel as needed to all campuses and regions.
Flexibility in work schedule including occasional nights and weekends

Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for this position is $46k-55k and placement in the salary range is commensurate upon experience and internal equity.
