Job Summary

  • Job Title:  Business Development Executive

As a Business Development Executive you will be a key player in expanding SGSs customer base and increasing market share in the Calibration sector. This field-based role is focused on identifying and converting new business opportunities reactivating lapsed clients and increasing engagement with current customers across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and win new business from prospects and lapsed clients.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and business cases to customers.
  • Maximise revenue opportunities within new and existing client accounts
  • Work collaboratively across business units to promote SGSs full suite of services.
  • Maintain up-to-date records using SGS CRM systems in line with KPI expectations.
  • Remain informed of market trends competitor activity and regulatory changes.
  • Act in accordance with SGS Responsible Sales & Marketing and Code of Integrity policies.

Qualifications :

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a technical B2B sales role.
  • Strong track record in new business development and account growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with CRM systems and a performance-driven sales environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a consultative value-based sales approach.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required (including internationally).
  • IT literate (MS Office and CRM tools).

Desirable

  • Experience in the Testing Calibration sector.
  • Knowledge of materials testing engineering or scientific industries.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and sales forecasting.
  • Project Management or Customer Service qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Sales qualification or significant relevant experience; full clean UK driving license.
  • Desirable: Degree in a technical engineering or scientific discipline; professional certifications (Prince2 Six Sigma NVQ etc.).
