Job Summary

Join a team thats advancing Canadas aerospace capabilities. As a Systems Engineering Analyst on our Canadian Air team youll play a hands-on role in the design analysis testing and integration of complex aerospace systems that directly support critical air missions. This could include reviewing and documenting architecture and UML diagrams as well as supporting root cause investigations. Collaboration across departments participation in aircraft modification efforts and presenting findings in technical reviews are key aspects of this rolealong with a focus on driving product and process improvements. Experience with navigation RF software or communication systems considered an asset.

The responsibilities and range of activities will vary depending on experience but in general will include:

  • Performing design analysis and/or test activities in support of completing the project objectives
  • Documenting analysis designs and tests (e.g. architecture diagrams UML diagrams tech notes design documents test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates
  • Writing formal test cases and execute them to collect formal test results
  • Preparing written test reports for submission to the end customer
  • Investigating system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses
  • Providing technical support during higher level integration and qualification testing
  • Providing technical inputs to and reviewing technical outputs from subcontractors
  • Interfacing with support departments e.g. Supply Chain Component Engineering Contracts;
  • Product and process improvements; identifying opportunities to improve products and services and drive those changes
  • Making presentations of work at design reviews or other types of peer review
  • Providing support to the software team to ensure alignment to program requirements and operational performance expectations

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor  Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
  • Relevant systems engineering experience with complex electronic systems or a combination of equivalent education/experience
  • Experience in/with:
    • requirements development and system design
    • requirements management tools
    • Systems Engineering processes and tools
    • supporting System Integration and System Verification
    • working in multi-disciplinary teams
    • technical writing
  • Understanding of Software and Systems Engineering principles
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to conduct analysis leading to good conclusions
  • Enthusiastic contributor willing to learn and takes pride and ownership of work

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
