The Opportunity
We are seeking a distinguished Head Sommelier to lead our wine program and deliver an exceptional guest experience through curated pairings cellar mastery and team leadership. This is a senior opportunity for a wine professional with deep expertise refined taste and a passion for storytelling through wine.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with guests employees and departments to ensure seamless service and team collaboration
- Guide guests with expert knowledge of wine origin vintage and style
- Create update and maintain wine lists that complement seasonal menus
- Pair and suggest wines to elevate the culinary experience
- Attend tastings and cultivate relationships with vendors and producers
- Request new wines and products to enhance the cellar offering
- Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
- Monitor and replenish wine cellar inventory equipment and glassware
- Conduct vintage and BIN number checks and maintain accurate spill sheets
- Lead staff wine tastings and training to elevate product knowledge
- Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and licensing requirements
What Were Looking For
We are looking for a charismatic and knowledgeable wine leader who embodies the spirit of luxury hospitality. You should bring creativity precision and a deep understanding of viniculture and service excellence.
You should have:
- Proven experience in wine program development and cellar management
- A passion for delivering elevated personalized guest experiences
- Leadership experience in luxury hospitality
- WSET Level 3 or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Physical ability to perform operational tasks as required
