School of Engineering College of Science & Engineering / Institute for Integrated Micro & Nano Systems (IMNS)

Fixed term contract until 31st March 2028.

Full time - 35 hours per week.

The Opportunity:

This Research Associate position will contribute to the ADIA2 project within the IMNS institute at the University of Edinburgh which is funded by role is subject to DSTL security clearance checks and appointment will be subject to candidates successfully completing these checks as well as right to work in the UK checks.

This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2028

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Tape-out experience please note this is absolutely essential.
  • Good grasp of the digital IC design flow
  • Good scripting skills (e.g. SKILL & Ocean Script)
  • Good communication skills including writing technical reports/papers and presenting technical work
  • Ability and initiative to generate and test ideas

Please note that candidates who will be invited to interview will be asked to provide a tape-out the portfolio (which can be in the form of a table) we expect to see at least:

  1. Technology used (e.g. TSMC180nm or GF22nm).
  2. Module(s) you have personally worked on (e.g. operational amplifier multiply-accumulate unit etc.).
  3. Stage(s) of the flow where you have contributed (e.g. specification set-up schematics design layout verification testing ).
  4. Nature of your contribution (sole-designer team member with responsibility for X Y Z ).
  5. (Optionally) Outcomes of the work.
