The Associate Director Trial Benchmarking & Performance Analytics develops and delivers data-driven insights on global and regional trial operations for the portfolio based on internal and external benchmarking data.
The Associate Director Trial Benchmarking & Performance Analytics will evaluate and identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on comparative assessments with industry benchmarks & internal targets partner with other functions to create an integrated assessment of clinical trial performance characterize its impact on advancing the BMS pipeline to deliver new treatments to patients in need. The successful candidate will drive the development and delivery of metrics and benchmarks that predict performance across trial intervals and facilitate quarterly performance reviews. Additionally this role will represent BMS at benchmarking consortia and drive the annual performance benchmarking processes for Drug Development.

This role reports to the Executive Director Drug Development Portfolio Insights & Reporting (PI&R) part of the Portfolio & Program Management (PPM) team. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of drug development and clinical operations coupled with advanced data acumen and experience in analyzing and delivering operational portfolio insights to enable data-driven decisions and effective risk management ultimately enhancing productivity across drug development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze clinical trial operational performance with a focus on global and regional operational activities evaluating performance relative to industry peers and internal targets
  • Serve as analytics leader supporting clinical operations and relevant clinical functions and act as a subject matter expert in study & peer benchmarking performance & productivity
  • Drive overall annual clinical benchmarking programs and specialty studies review cycles and timelines
  • Support integration of benchmarking capabilities & analytics into Performance Central to democratize external performance data
  • Develops and delivers clear andconcise presentations of portfolioinsights
  • Supports continuous evolution of pipeline reporting to DDLT and BMS leadership


Qualifications & Experience

  • 7 years of professional experience in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise in biopharmaceutical Data Science and Statistical analysis preferred
  • Degree in Life Sciences or Business Management and/or advanced degree in related discipline preferred (e.g. PhD MS MBA).
  • Deep understanding of clinical operations at global and regional levels
  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and draw insights on performance metrics identifying impacts on operational health and business processes
  • Familiarity and direct experience with systems used to manage clinical trials; e.g. clinical trial management systems (Oracle Rave) EDC site monitoring document management
  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and draw insights on performance metrics identifying impacts on operational health and business processes
  • Business operations experience and familiarity with divisionalmanagement. Expertise in R&D functions (e.g. Clinical Operations CMC Regulatory Project management Commercial) preferred.
  • Comfort in an agile work environment and capable of bringingstructure to vaguely defined problems while using creative yetpragmatic problem-solving approaches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the abilityto interface with a broad range of internal and externalstakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Proactive organized and promoter of diversity and inclusivity
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills;strong change & stakeholder management skills
