Job Summary
East Anglia Childrens Hospices (EACH)has an opportunity for a care assistant to join our teamon afull-time basis although part-time hours of over 24 per week can be considered. This position will be based at The Treehouse Hospicein Ipswich.
- Deliver person-centred planned care to designated babies children and young people.
- Administer medicines as an authorised practitioner.
- Ensure care plans are kept up to date delivery of care is accurately recorded and records are maintained in accordance with EACH policies and procedures.
- Participate in planning and delivering family wellbeing groups and events and hydrotherapy.
- Provide support and assistance to other team members when carrying out nursing procedures or wellbeing activities and events.
- Maintain clinical records on SystmOne.
- Maintain regular contact with designated families.
About the Candidate
If you are a skilled care assistant with excellent person-centred planning experience and strong local knowledge for accessing key support then we would love to hear from you.
The ideal applicant will have the following skills experience and qualifications:
- A full UK driving license with the ability to travel to locations within the hospices region.
- NVQ Level 3 qualification desirable (health and social care).
- Experience of working within a similar caring profession working with children or young people.
- Highly motivated enthusiastic forward thinking individual.
- Strong English language skills both verbal and written.
- Good IT skills Word Excel and Outlook experience required.
- Ability to undertake physical activities and manual handling to support the varying needs of our service users in line with the requirements of the role.
