Job Summary
As a member of the Tools team within the Network Services Department you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative self-service and automation tools that enhance the productivity and quality of network infrastructure tasks. Our Network Tools portfolio comprises custom-built software solutions that empower network teams with automation capabilities intuitive dashboards and self-service features ultimately driving efficiency and excellence in enterprise network infrastructure operations.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to balance technical development expertise with lead responsibilities working with modern technologies like GoLang NodeJS DB Python React and OpenShift Container Platform. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions while leading DevOps practices and driving technical decision-making for our automation tools ecosystem.
Responsibilities
develop and maintain automation solutions for network operations using NodeJS JavaScript and modern frameworks
technical initiatives and coordinate automation projects from conception to deployment
and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with various network systems and platforms
legacy applications (Perl-based) to modern technology stacks (GoLang/Python)
and maintain CI/CD pipelines and implement GitOps workflows for continuous delivery
frontend interfaces using React and CSS for automation tools and dashboards
complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions for network automation challenges
with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers
code quality standards conduct code reviews and ensure security best practices
Qualifications
MUST HAVE - SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience with strong proficiency in NodeJS JavaScript and SQL
- Proven experience developing automation solutions (network automation preferred) with 3 years of modern frontend development experience
- Experience with or willingness to quickly learn GoLang Python and React in cloud-native environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Tekton) GitOps workflows (e.g. ArgoCD) and Linux/Unix environments
- Experience developing and managing RESTful APIs with basic Perl knowledge for legacy application migration
- Currently an active hands-on software developer with excellent troubleshooting and analytical capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and coordinate project responsibilities
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills fluent in English and proven ability to rapidly acquire new technical skills through experimentation and problem-solving
NICE TO HAVE- SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Prior professional work experience with GoLang Python and React is highly desirable. Candidates without this experience should demonstrate commitment to learning and scaling up quickly.
- DevOps experience with Tekton CI/CD pipelines ArgoCD GitOps workflows Git (GitHub/GitLab) and Jira project management
- Experience with security and code quality tools (e.g. SonarQube Snyk) and AI-powered development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot)
- Cloud-native development experience in GCP (CaaS environments) or Azure (Microsoft services integration)
- Deep knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP routing switching VLANs) Cisco equipment configuration Observability tools (Prometheus Grafana) and AIOps concepts and platforms
- Prior experience in network infrastructure operations or CCNA certification
