About the opportunity

HWSSpecialty is seeking a Assistant Account Executive/ Account Executive who is responsible for providing high quality service to Steadfast Brokers via the provision & support of Placement services.

HWS Specialty secures wholesale placement solutions for Steadfast Network brokers and intermediaries around the world. For over 40 years our passionate team of broking experts have built strong relationships with an extensive network of industry partners placing premium into the local global and Lloyds insurance markets.

This role involves supporting Senior Brokers with the placement of complex commercial risks across property and ancillary lines. Youll work closely with internal stakeholders and market partners to structure and secure bespoke insurance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and negotiating underwriting placement submissions/solutions
  • Coordinating with brokers and underwriters across multiple markets
  • Attending meetings and contributing to broker engagement
  • Assist with the renewal process including sending renewal invitations preparing market information and sending quotations
  • Implementing renewal and broking strategies in accordance with instructions received from Senior Brokers
  • Developing and maintaining meaningful working relationships with insurers colleagues and producing brokers.
  • Involvement in claims (alongside our claims team).
  • Maintain and build your product and technical knowledge in the insurance market.
  • Provide reports and relevant information to the management team as required

Skills and Knowledge

  • 35 years experience in insurance broking underwriting or placement
  • Strong product knowledge particularly Industrial Special Risks
  • Tier 1 broking qualification
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in a multiple stakeholder environment- liaison with clients external service providers and other departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • A high degree of organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks whilst meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team with peers and senior management.
  • Generating creative and compliant solutions to work situations.
  • Ability to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to organisational problems and opportunities.
