Executive Director / Engagement Partner
Role Overview:
As a Senior Manager in the GDS FAAS Accounting and Reporting team you will lead advisory engagements focused on complex accounting matters and financial reporting challenges for clients in Banking and Financial Services Sector. The role demand deep technical expertise in IFRS banking specific reporting frameworks and regulatory compliance while driving finance transformation initiatives.
This role requires balancing strategic advisory project delivery stakeholder management and team leadership. You will act as trusted advisor to CFOs Chief accounting officer shaping solutions around financial reporting automation and performance insights to address the evolving regulatory and business environment in banking sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple client engagements related to financial reporting IFRS compliance and transaction accounting.
- Provide strategic guidance on IFRS 9 IFRS 7 IFRS 16 and IFRS 17 for banks and NBFCs.
- Collaborate with finance leaders of large multilocation Banks to deliver tailored solutions.
- Advise clients to optimize Regulatory reporting including BASEL III.
- Drive advisory o finance function modernization including:
- Closing and consolidation optimization
- Chart of account redesign reconciliation and reporting simplification
- Enablement of digital reporting tools (PowerBI Tableau SAP S/4 HANA Oracle FCCS etc)
- Partner with Business and IT stakeholders to design end to end accounting and reporting solutions
- Develop thought leadership on emerging trends such as ESG and sustainability related disclosures and digital transformation related opportunities within the finance fuction.
- Create frameworks and solution accelerators for faster implementation of regulatory accounting and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with leadership to create GTM strategies for banking sector
- Drive business development initiatives including RFPs proposals and client acquisition.
- Monitor engagement performance against budgets and KPIs.
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- Deep understanding of retail corporate and investment banking processes balance sheet KPIs and risk drivers.
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS and financial reporting in Banking domain Basel III and ECL etc.
- Exposure to Finance transformation tools like SAP S/4 HANA Oracle FCCS Power BI and Tableau etc.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. CA CPA ACCA).
- IFRS Accreditation Essential for financial reporting and compliance in global banking environments preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 10 years in a global consulting firm or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in leading IFRS desks or overseeing reporting for large multinational clients.
