Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team you will act as a team lead for designing developing testing and/or maintaining hardware technology and/or processes requiring the integration of stakeholder needs and/or existing solutions.

The Lead Splunk Engineer role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Determine customer needs and while identifying and resolving conflicting and/or complementary needs across customer groups.
  • Apply advanced skill knowledge and experience to design and develop technical solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Use a process-driven approach in designing solutions.
  • May maintain or oversee the maintenance of existing technical solutions

There is one opening for this position which can be based in our Reston VA office.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 4 years of hands-on Splunk administration and engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of Splunk architecture (indexers search heads forwarders clustering licensing).
  • Proficiency in SPL (Search Processing Language).
  • Experience with onboarding data from multiple sources (syslog APIs cloud platforms security tools).
  • Familiarity with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES)
  • Solid background in Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Scripting skills (Python Bash or PowerShell).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desired Experiences

  • Splunk Core Certified Power User Administrator Architect or ES certification(s)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) and Splunk Cloud.
  • Experience with SIEM SOAR or other log management/security platforms.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK NIST CIS).
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git Ansible Terraform CI/CD pipelines).

The hiring range for this role is set forth below.
