EY GDS Data and Analytics (D&A) Data Governance Manager
We are seeking experienced professionals with a strong foundation in data governance proven capability in delivering enterprise-level solutions and demonstrated team leadership experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading global firm and play a key role in shaping and driving data governance initiatives within a rapidly growing Data and Analytics practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design implementation and oversight of data governance frameworks including the development of standards policies and procedures to ensure data quality consistency security and regulatory compliance.
- Manage a team of data governance professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams including data stewards data architects and data engineers to embed governance practices across the organization.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data governance initiativesfrom business requirements gathering through design execution and continuous improvement.
- Drive metadata management data lineage documentation data stewardship processes and ensure the integration of governance tools within enterprise data platforms.
- Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments establish remediation plans and track resolution progress to ensure continual improvement.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on data policies controls and usage guidelines.
- Identify and recommend opportunities where governance can improve operational efficiency data-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance.
- Support organizational change management related to data governance adoption and maturity.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- 9 to 14 years of industry experience with a significant focus on data governance and data management.
- Hands-on expertise in leading enterprise-grade data governance tools such as Collibra Ataccama or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of data quality (DQ) management metadata management data cataloging and lineage tracking.
- Experience implementing governance strategies across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR CCPA and other compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor team members ensuring quality delivery and skill development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a consultative mindset to translate complex business requirements into effective governance solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsboth technical and non-technical.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaborative delivery environments is a plus.
To qualify for the role you must have:
- A degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field with 9-14 years of Industry experience
- A proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-wide data governance programs.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices related to data governance tooling and integration.
- Ability to handle complex problem resolution with minimal supervision while ensuring best practices in security scalability and performance.
- Clear and effective communicator able to articulate governance concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor team members effectively
