What youll do
Join platform engineering at SAP LeanIX asSenior Backend Engineer. Our mission: deliver highly reliable performant and modern platform services as foundation for all product teams.
The role:
- Take ownership for our platform services around user & tenant management authentication and authorization
- Architect and evolve the services to meet global scale and strict performance targets (high throughput low latency fault tolerance).
- Build robust scalable RESTful and event-driven APIs.
- Design and implement secure standards-compliant identity provisioning auth flows and access controls that support multi-tenant needs.
- Make observability a first-class feature: implement metrics distributed tracing SLOs/SLIs and actionable alerts so issues are detected and resolved quickly.

- Microsoft Azure Kubernetes and Istio
- Modern CI/CD: GitHub Actions ArgoCD
What you bring
- 5 years of professional backend engineering experience.
- Passion for platform services (tenant & user management authentication authorization...).
- Proficiency with Java/Kotlin building and operating scalable backend services.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL at scale.
- Solid experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
- Production-focused mindset: observability CI/CD testing reliability and performance optimization.
- Clear open communicator who collaborates well across product and engineering.

Meet your team
Youll join Atlas a cross-functional team of Front- and Back-End Engineers an Engineering Manager a Product Manager and a UX Designer. Atlas owns foundational platform domains used across the LeanIX product (tenant & user lifecycle/management authentication and authorization). Your work will shape the baseline for all product teams: designing secure reliable and scalable services that other teams depend on.
