Job Summary

The Department of Probation is seeking skilled IT Desktop Support Engineers whose duties will include but not be limited to the following:

- Perform all aspects of desktop PC support including troubleshooting and resolving user problems Hardware deployment ongoing software installation;
- Asset inventory and management and ensuring that all agency desktops are set up and maintained within required specifications and agency standards;
- Voice over IP phone support; provide level 1 network support;
- Monitor Service Now ticket queues to ensure efficient handling (based on priority aging etc.) and prompt response;
- Manage the desktop support documentation including technical reference guide and associated library of materials (procedures system builds troubleshooting guides etc.);
- Provide trouble-shooting strategies
- Additional duties as assigned.

Hours/shifts are dependent on the needs of the Department. Candidates may be required to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.

Candidates must be permanent in the Computer Associate (Operations) title.

COMPUTER ASSOC (OPERATIONS) - 13621


Qualifications :

1. A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations and two years of satisfactory full-time computer operations experience in a large-scale networked multi- tiered or mainframe computer environment or two years of satisfactory data communications network experience working in a mainframe or multi-tiered computer environment; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in 1 above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience as described
in 1 above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2or 3 above. However all candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience as described in 1 above
