Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Urgent Care

About the Role
As aPhysician Assistant (PA)orNurse Practitioner (NP) you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. Youll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats colds flu-like symptoms cuts sprains and minor infections. Youll work independently or alongside a physician using your clinical expertise to assess diagnose and treat patients while recognizing when to escalate care to emergency services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
- Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
- Perform minor procedures including suturing splinting and casting
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
- Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
- Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
- Work scheduled shifts of 4 8 or 12 hours as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum1 year of full-time experienceas a licensed NP or PA in anUrgent Care or Emergency Medicinesetting (required)
- Experience treatingboth pediatric and adultpatient populations (required)
- Comfortable performingminor proceduresincluding suturing casting and splinting (required)
- Proficient inpreliminary readsof EKGs and X-rays (required)
Physician Assistants:
- Masters degree from an accredited PA program (required)
- NCCPA Certification(required)
Nurse Practitioners:
- Masters degree in Nursing (required)
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in urgent care procedures (e.g. suturing splinting)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attentive listening and patient engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Multilingual communication skills
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
- Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
