Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing clinical support to patient care working directly with a supervising provider or physical therapist. They deliver patient care by providing expertise in injury assessment bracing rehabilitation and return to play/functional training coordinating and providing direct patient education plans of care and treatment and supports providers in scheduling and documentation.
Essential Job Functions
Provides support to daily clinical treatment of patients. Assists physical therapist in implementing treatment plans.
Supports and provides guidance to patients with exercise programs treatment plans bracing and scheduling.
Manages and coordinates injury prevention programming for athletes as well as cash based functional return to play programming.
Helps manage physicians clinical throughput by coordinating care with outreach athletic trainers physical therapists and other medical professionals.
Documents injury treatments and plans of care.
Maintains competency by participation in continuing education in-services and other learning opportunities.

Licensing/Certification
NATA BOC Certified National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (required)
Current Athletic Trainer license in the state in which they are practicing (required)
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire required within 30 days for BSMH required at hire for RSFH)
Education
Bachelors degree in Athletic Training (required)
Masters degree in Athletic Training (preferred)
Work Experience
2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)

RN Physician Partners Job Summary:
Provides patient care at Roper St. Francis Health Care sites as assigned using approved protocols. Facilitate the timely communication of clinical advice to patients electronically or by phone as directed by practice providers. Ensure all needed medical records are available to care teams and providers prior to patients office visit. Coordinate with other team members to provide exceptional patient service. The RN will receive training on the Electonic Health Record system (EHR).
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
Experience: One to two years RN experience preferable.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
Primary Source Verification: Yes or compact RN state licensing board.
Knowledge/Skills: Requires the ability to use clinical equipment including EKG machine spirometer Hemocue Pulse Oxymeter. Must have basic knowledge of medication policy and procedure and effectively utilize assessment skills for triage and patient care. Must be able to assist physician with outpatient office procedures. Strong patient-centered focus. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients employees and the public. Ability to organize and manage competing priorities. Ability to problem solve and show good judgment.
