Summary of Job Duties:

The Monitor Technician is a trained member of the nursing team within the Telemetry department. Monitor Technicians provide 24/7 telemetry monitoring and observation for inpatients from all disciplines throughout the hospital. The department focus is aiding in identification and prevention of acute medical events by providing monitoring across multiple platforms and to help ensure our patients receive the highest possible care available. The Telemetry department strives to maintain the most updated evidence-based practices and equipment needed to facilitate our goals. Monitor Technicians are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team approach we implement at UAMS.

Responsibilities:

• Performs EKG on time;

• Cleans EKG equipment after each patient use maintains a clear electrocardiogram signal and problem-solves interferences in the pattern.

• Assign an overreader in MUSE.

• Enters all patient information in Epic EKG machine and MUSE

• Other duties as assigned.
