Job Summary
Description
Responsibilities
Oversee and review monthly accounting processes reconciliations and management accounts.
Manage cash flow investments payments and collections to maintain strong financial control.
Prepare and analyse monthly management reports for senior leadership.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure accurate financial planning.
Ensure control accounts balance sheets and income statements are reconciled monthly.
Prepare and submit VAT income tax and statutory returns (FSCA Prudential Authority Reserve Bank SARS NAMFISA).
Compile annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure audit requirements are met.
Review and strengthen internal financial systems processes and controls.
Resolve reconciling and long-outstanding items on balance sheet accounts.
Provide ad hoc financial insights and reporting support to management teams.
Requirements
CA (SA) qualification (registered Chartered Accountant).
Minimum 2 years post-articles experience.
Stable career history demonstrating consistency and commitment.
Experience outside of audit prior exposure to a commercial or corporate finance environment.
Strong academic background ideally with first-time board exam passes.
Insurance industry experience (short-term long-term or brokerage) is advantageous.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software (Great Plains SAP or Accpac beneficial).
Strong analytical problem-solving and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Results-driven and able to manage deadlines effectively within a dynamic environment.
