Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Wellness Manager for a luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger.
This live-in position is ideal for a hands-on professional wellness manager with strong leadership skills a passion for guest wellbeing and the ability to maintain the highest standards in a luxury safari lodge environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
Oversee the day-to-day running of the Wellness Centre in the Wellness Managers absence
Ensure all areas are clean stocked and maintained to high standards
Implement opening and closing procedures for the Wellness Centre
Report and follow up on maintenance issues
Ensure correct ambiance including music and environment for a premium guest experience
Maintain update and adhere to standard operating procedures and checklists
Guest Experience
Proactively engage with guests to promote Wellness Centre services
Conduct all treatments according to internationally recognised standards
Manage private villa bookings yoga classes and boutique sales
Ensure guest safety privacy and confidentiality in line with POPIA and professional spa standards
Host guests when required providing a holistic and memorable wellness experience
Assist guests in the salon gym and yoga areas
Team Management
Train coach and manage therapists ensuring adherence to protocols and service standards
Conduct performance reviews and manage underperformance in consultation with management
Promote team spirit motivation and good communication
Ensure therapists maintain professional appearance hygiene and conduct at all times
Maintain understanding and implementation of all wellness offerings and special touches
Administration
Coordinate stock takes report shortages and manage inventory
Maintain awareness of health and safety hazards chemical use and hygiene practices
Support budget monitoring and ensure efficient purchasing
Build relationships with suppliers and identify future sourcing opportunities
Ensure accurate reporting of treatments stock and sales
Requirements
Proven experience in a senior wellness or spa management role within a luxury environment
Strong knowledge of spa treatments wellness therapies and holistic approaches
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to mentor and develop staff
Attention to detail organisation and high standards of professionalism
Flexible proactive and guest-focused
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a spa environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
