Do you want a job that changes peoples lives and helps communities across all of Washington State The Program Support Specialist (PSS) is a statewide position that helps run and support Washington States systems for helping people find jobs including the broadly inclusive Employment System (also known as Wagner-Peyser) and the more focused Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker program (MSFW). This position reports to the Employment Services and Economic Inclusion Manager and serves as a statewide senior level subject matter expert within the Wagner-Peyser and MSFW programs. This position will further our agencys mission by delivering program information technical assistance specialized consultation and support to staff in the Wagner-Peyser and MSFW programs and in the broader WorkSource addition this position will serve as the program lead for performance management monitoring and providing technical assistance to the field and make recommendations to the program operator on improvement strategies and complex issues and problems. They will assist with developing and updating procedures and policies to implement new facets to the program and/or activities and training new staff as needed. They may serve as a program representative on various internal teams special projects and initiatives. Coordinate program services and resources; act as a program liaison and provide reports and consultation to internal and external entities regarding the functions of the program. Also this position coordinates with all ESD Divisions the 12 Local Workforce Development Boards and WorkSource supervisors and field staff across the state.
As the Program Support Specialist you will help lead the Wagner-Peyser and MSFW programs and provide leadership and support to the WorkSource system with a focus on helping more people enter secure careers. You will be a force for economic inclusion and equity along with a team of like-minded professionals.
You will use your strong customer service experience and problem-solving skills to track and communicate activities and job seeker outcomes through regular briefings and reports including using visual management tools. You will also assist with developing and updating procedures and policies and train staff as needed. You may also serve as a program representative on various internal teams special projects and initiatives and coordinate program services and resources. This role acts as a subject matter expert and program liaison and provides consultation to internal and external entities regarding the functions of the program.
Some of what youll be doing:
Required:
A combination of education and/or relevant experience that totals seven(7)or more years.
OR:One (1) year experience as a WorkSource Specialist 5 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department or another states Employment Security agency
OR: Two (2) years of experience as a WorkSource Specialist 4 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department or another states Employment Security agency AND one year experience as a designated lead.
OR:A Bachelors degree and three (3) yearsof relevant experience in workforce development social or human resource services public relations or public contact work such as: unemployment insurance social services human resource services education public relations benefits programs insurance claims law enforcement and banking OR a combination of education and/or relevant experience which includes one year experience as a designated lead.
