The role

As an NDT Quality Inspector youll be at the heart of our Type 31 Frigate Programme ensuring the structural integrity and quality of our cutting-edge naval vessels. This is a rare opportunity to work on one of the UKs most significant defence projects where your expertise will help deliver ships that protect nations and communities worldwide.

Day-to-day youll have the following responsibilities:

• Perform structural and NDT inspections including ultrasonic testing of welds and components.
• Manage and coordinate Lloyds Register inspections and maintain inspection schedules.
• Conduct product verification audits and onboard quality investigations.
• Support the Quality Manager and collaborate with internal manufacturing teams.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.

Youll work full-time Monday to Thursday with overtime opportunities at weekends. This is a fully onsite role at Rosyth.

Essential experience of the NDT Quality Inspector:

• Proven experience in heavy manufacturing environments ideally with fabrication and structural work.
• Demonstrable expertise in Welding Inspection and NDT Inspection preferably Ultrasonic.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Skilled in assessing production and subcontractor work for quality and technical compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Control fundamentals.

Qualifications for the NDT Quality Inspector:

• SVQ Level 3 or above in a recognised engineering trade qualification such as Fabrication/Welding/Shipwright/Marine Engineering
• Minimum CSWIP 3.1 (or equivalent).
• Minimum PCN Level 2 in UT (MT & PT beneficial).
• Additional NDT or coatings inspection certifications are advantageous.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
