Our Regional Delivery Team in Greater Sydney is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Natural Resources Officer (Floodplain Management) to support delivery of the NSW Floodplain Management Program.
About You
We are seeking a skilled Floodplain Risk Management officer to provide expert technical and strategic support to Councils and their Floodplain Risk Management Committees in the development and implementation of Flood Studies and Floodplain Risk Management Studies and Plans.
This role involves offering high-level advice to regional staff and stakeholders assisting in the development of operational policies and supporting Councils in securing funding for practical flood mitigation strategies. You will ensure best practices are applied across all technical and policy advice maintain accurate records for grant-funded projects and monitor progress against milestones.
The position also includes preparing ministerial correspondence contributing to environmental planning assessments and facilitating the timely delivery of studies and plans in collaboration with Councils and communities. A key focus will be on integrating floodplain risk management with coastal and estuarine processes maintaining technical excellence and delivering high-quality community-focused strategies that support environmental resilience.
