Job Summary

Description: As a System Engineer you are responsible for providing support to our web-based mission application and its customers.This software product is a full life cycle software suite that provides audio & video ingest storage query playback analysis and transcription features. Our application is used by national and tactical analysts on small systems (laptops) and large systems (server farms). You will be working with technologies including Amazon Web Services / VMs Kubernetes Docker Grafana Kabana GitLab CI/CD Jira and Confluence.

We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78000 to $250000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidates work location specific role skill set and level of expertise.

Responsibilities:
- Support the DevOps team in testing and troubleshooting our web application
- Collaborate with operations and development teams to identify testing needs and develop test plans
- Triage reported operational issues
- Monitor Tier 1 application health and status metrics
- Report issues detected during testing or system usage via the ticketing system
- Perform system and application installations and upgrades
- Provide operational support and/or training to users
- Monitor and respond to application-related Jira Service Desk tickets
- Occasionally respond to mission-critical after-hours calls
- Participate in minor CONUS/OCONUS travel (12 times per year)
- Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in Linux environments (RHEL 8/9 Rocky 8/9)
- Experience with Grafana
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience providing customer support through Jira Service Desk
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash Python Ruby)
- Familiarity with containerized applications specifically using Docker/Kubernetes
- Familiarity with BDD testing frameworks (Cucumber Spock Behave)
- Familiarity with automated configuration management tools (Ansible Salt Puppet)
- Experience with ElasticSearch and Kibana
- Experience with HCI/AWS Cloud services
- Experience with STE/STN & OS hardening
- Experience with IT Instances Authoritative Data Source (ADS)
