The Community Engagement Specialist (1844 Senior Management Assistant) will report to the Director of the Economic Justice Center. This role is focused on building external partnerships strengthening community connections and creating opportunities to advance economic justice across San Francisco. The Community Engagement Specialist will develop and implement outreach strategies cultivate partnerships with community organizations and represent the EJC in public forums and community coalitions. They will proactively identify opportunities to amplify EJCs impact and apply an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to community engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a community outreach strategy in collaboration with all programs and initiatives to build awareness trust and engagement among EJC clients community partners funders communities of practice and other key stakeholders. Synthesize current outreach efforts into the strategy as appropriate.
- Represent all EJC programs and initiatives externally at community events meetings and presentations serving as a key point of contact for partners stakeholders and coalitions as assigned. Bring back learnings from community and coalitions to inform and enhance EJCs work.
- Develop materials for use externally. Create and manage the distribution of outreach collateral including flyers brochures newsletters announcements website content social media posts reports briefs and other materials. Develop talking points and presentation materials.
- Plan and execute outreach activities such as trainings and public presentations.
- Collaborate with Research Director on community listening across programs and initiatives. Conduct interviews or focus groups to gather key information.
- Create and maintain a bank of qualitative data stories and learnings from community. Collect organize and incorporate community testimonials and narratives from participants in EJC programs and initiatives into communications and reports.
- Support continuous improvement of outreach strategies by testing new approaches gathering data and making adjustments as needed.
- Develop maintain and foster strong working relationships with organizational partners. Build trust and credibility among community members.
- Support Research & Innovation work as appropriate. Provide project management for initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university; AND
Experience: Three (3) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level administrative duties in functional areas such as: program/office/operations management budget development and/or administration development and administration of contractual agreements and/or grants or other closely related functional areas.
Education Substitution: Additional qualifying experience in program/office/operations management budget development and/or administration or contract/grant administration may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One (1) year (2000 hours) of additional qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units.
Note: One year full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
