AECOM is seeking an experienced Site Survey Technician to support our projects located in the Newark DE area. This position involves performing field surveys collecting and verifying data and assisting with project documentation to ensure accuracy and quality. The ideal candidate will have prior survey experience strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process raw field survey data collected by field crews using Trimble Business Center or similar software
- Draft topographic boundary and construction survey plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation
- Perform QA/QC on incoming field data and ensure accuracy of deliverables
- Assist with the preparation of digital terrain models (DTMs) surfaces and alignments
- Support project managers and licensed surveyors with data analysis calculations and documentation
- Maintain organized project files and adhere to company and client CAD standards
- Conduct field surveys using various surveying equipment such as total stations GPS receivers and laser scanners
- Assist in the setup and operation of survey instruments and equipment
- Perform basic survey calculations and adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with field crews to ensure proper data collection and resolution of any discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of survey reports including property descriptions and easement exhibits
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and clients
- Stay current with industry standards technologies and best practices in surveying and geospatial data processing
- Assist in the development and implementation of survey-related workflows and procedures
- Contribute to the maintenance and calibration of survey equipment to ensure optimal performance
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience in land surveying CAD drafting or geospatial data processing
- Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required
Preferred Requirements:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar drafting software
- Familiarity with survey data formats and coordinate systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
