Role description:

As the Global Director of Workplace you will lead the optimization of Arcadis global real estate portfolio ensuring best value for money while prioritizing employee experience. This strategic leadership role will drive the performance and further development of our Global Workplace organization through among others data-driven decision-making and close engagement with the business.

You will oversee a high-performing team of four Directors (Portfolio Projects Operations & Program) and collaborate with senior stakeholders to align workplace strategy with Arcadis business goals sustainability commitments and people-first culture

Role accountabilities:

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Lead the global workplace strategy optimizing a portfolio of 350 locations to support business growth sustainability and employee wellbeing.
  • Consolidate the recent transformation of the globally centralized workplace team into a well performing organization.
  • Support the implementation of Arcadis Workstyle Promise.

Portfolio Optimization & Value Creation

  • Develop and execute strategies to consolidate rationalize and modernize our real estate portfolio.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective solutions that enhance space utilization and reduce operational overhead.
  • Collaborate on M&A activities to ensure seamless integration of workplace assets.
  • Improve the Employee Experience of our Workplace while optimizing Operations

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Developed maintain and publish robust and trusted Workplace Data Products to enable actionable insights.
  • Develop and publish Dashboards (reporting tools) for use across Arcadis to support real estate related decisions.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in workplace performance metrics (incl. sustainability).

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the Workplace Leadership Team (Portfolio Projects Operations & Program).
  • Foster a culture of innovation inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Create strong partnerships with Regional Business Leaders Tech Procurement Legal People & Culture to align the Workplace Strategy with the Business Strategy to ensure its successful implementation and achieve the desired outcomes.

Employee Experience & Wellbeing

  • Ensure workplace environments support productivity collaboration and wellbeing.
  • Integrate employee feedback into workplace design and operations.
  • Promote flexible hybrid work models that reflect Arcadis values and future-of-work vision

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Executive leadership and change transformation experience across a global portfolio of assets.
  • 10 years of progressive leadership in corporate real estate workplace strategy or facilities management.
  • Proven experience leading global transformation initiatives and managing large-scale portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data management data visualization and decision support tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks develop strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in change management organizational design and team development.
  • Commitment to sustainability diversity equity and inclusion

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in consulting architecture or workplace design.
  • Familiarity with IWMS platforms and workplace analytics tools.
  • Experience in managing workplace programs across multiple geographies and cultures.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity equity and inclusion in the workplace
