Job Summary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications & Marketing (50%)

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports donor engagement brand visibility and mission storytelling.
  • Create compelling newsletters campaigns annual reports and appeals (digital and print)
  • Develop communication materials for events including invitations sponsorship decks press releases and program journals
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy to ensure cohesive messaging and strong engagement
  • Maintain and update LUWs website and photo archive
  • Produce monthly internal e-newsletter and collaborate with staff to create program flyers
  • Manage external vendors including graphic designer audio/visual partners and printers

Events (30%)

  • Lead the planning and execution of LUWs fundraising and cultivation events including our annual spring gala and fall benefit concert
  • Oversee event logistics from start to finish
  • Develop event themes timelines and budgets that align with fundraising goals.
  • Recruit and engage committees honorees and sponsors
  • Draft collateral run-of-show materials and talking points
  • Analyze post-event outcomes to continuously strengthen future events

Donor Relations & Stewardship (20%)

  • Identify and cultivate new donors event sponsors and partners
  • Represent LUW at community events donor meetings and public-facing engagements as needed
  • Record donor interactions and communications in donor database (Bloomerang)
  • Support other Development initiatives including the annual Student Essay Contest and seasonal campaigns


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of professional experience in fundraising communications marketing or event planning
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Exceptional writing editing and storytelling skills
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for events
  • Proven experience planning and executing successful fundraising events
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Tech savvy including proficiency in Microsoft Suite and basic design/website software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Lifting Up Westchester
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for occasional local travel.
