Were seeking a meticulous and strategic Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in West Kelowna. In this pivotal role youll report to the Accounting Manager and be instrumental in ensuring financial integrity across our Retail & Hospitality operations. Youll lead initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy uncover actionable insights and support high-level decision-making.
Accountabilities & Impact:
- Perform month-end processes and prepare monthly working papers and reconciliations of specific accounts
- Perform daily and month-end reconciliations including reconciliation of revenue labor and other operational cost
- Support for Finance team on regular budgeting reporting and analytical tasks
- Analyze general ledger accounts
- Support inventory processes: investigate variances and improve reporting and/or process flows
- Assist in training and development of junior team members
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to drive results
- Assist in monthly and year-end management/audit queries
- Maintain procedural documentation and create SOPs for key processes
- Support analysis related to cost volume profit
Skills & Experiences Needed:
- Completed Bachelor degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- CPA Designation preferred
- 5-7 years progressive accounting experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and the ability to connect the dots and follow data flow in various financial information systems.
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems
