Job Summary

We are now looking for master students within Electrochemistry or any other relevant field that are interested in doing their thesis project at our Battery Competence Center (HGBCC) Department at Husqvarna Group!

Husqvarna Group Battery Competence Center develops battery packs for electrified tools. Cell and battery testing along with data analysis are essential in our development process for gaining insights and making informed decisions to optimise battery performance.

The objective

Define relevant performance parameters (KPIs) for cell or battery test data. Extract and visualize these KPIs from existing test data and build a database in order to compare different cell brands or types with each other. Interpret these results with regards to the underlying electrochemistry.

Proper area of education

Master in Electrochemistry Data science tools (Power BI Python) or any other relevant field.

The thesis will include work such as

  • Analyze existing test data from single cells or battery packs and extract relevant performance parameters (KPIs) to be compared within different cells or batteries.

  • KPIs may include but are not limited toe.g. internal resistance energy or coulombic efficiency charging time (CC or CV) surface temperature etc. and may be evaluated with respect to ageing of the cell or battery.

  • Interpret the obtained results with regardto the relevant electrochemical processes in the cell/battery.

  • Develop an interface for visually presenting and comparing the KPIs of different cells / batteries e.g. a dashboard/ graphs using e.g. Power BI or automated graphical presentations via Python scripts.

  • Reporting will be through regular meetings and written documentation in the form of a Husqvarna design guideline as well as the wishes of the university.
