Job Summary

This is a remote position.

As a Remote Data Processing & Information Clerk for Hobie you will support the companys operations by processing and managing data organising information flows and ensuring that digital records accurately reflect real-world business activities. Hobie has a heritage of innovation in watercraft design and global distribution making data accuracy across inventory orders customer interactions and vendor channels critical to its success.



Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process incoming information from multiple sources: sales orders shipments returns vendor invoices inventory logs and customer data.

  • Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of processed data in company systems (databases spreadsheets ERP modules) including status updates coding classification and archival of records.

  • Review and validate source documents for completeness accuracy and conformity to standards; follow up with respective teams to correct issues or obtain missing details.

  • Reconcile data flows across systemse.g. matching received shipments with inventory records ensuring customer orders are entered correctly aligning vendor invoices with purchase orders.

  • Generate regular reports (daily weekly monthly) summarising information such as processing volume error rates pending entries inventory discrepancies vendor lead times and other key metrics.

  • Assist in organising maintaining and improving information-management systemsfor example: folder structures naming conventions data-cleaning routines digital archives and ensuring traceability of records.

  • Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams (sales logistics manufacturing/distribution vendor relations) to validate information respond to queries escalate issues and ensure data supports business decisions.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows automate repetitive tasks (macros templates) reduce manual entry load and enhance data accuracy and speed of processing.

  • Uphold confidentiality data security and remote-work best practices: ensure customer/vendor information and operational data are handled securely backups are maintained and access protocols are followed.




Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree certification or coursework in data management business administration information systems or related field preferred.

  • Experience (entry-level acceptable if backed by strong skills) in data processing data entry clerical or administrative support roles; experience in remote working environment is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when working with large volumes of data and document sources.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (e.g. addressing data in tables filters basic formula usage); familiarity with databases or ERP systems an advantage.

  • Good organisational and time-management skills: able to prioritise multiple tasks meet deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.

  • Effective communication skills: able to liaise via email/chat/video with remote teams ask clarifying questions follow up on missing information and provide status updates.

  • Reliable home-office setup: stable internet connection quiet workspace self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Interest in outdoor recreation water-sports or the Hobie brand is a plus and aligns well with the companys culture of innovation and lifestyle.

Required Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certificate in business administration data management or related field preferred. Proven experience in data entry clerical or administrative rolespreferably in a manufacturing retail e-commerce or distribution environment. Strong typing skills (e.g. 50 wpm) with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) comfortable working with large datasets; familiarity with ERP or inventory systems is a plus. Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize tasks work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across remote teams. Reliable remote work setup with strong internet connection ability to maintain focus in a home-office environment. Interest in outdoor recreation water-sports or familiarity with the Hobie brand is a plus helpful to understand the product context.
