Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a contract assignment within a high-volume acute inpatient surgical setting. This role supports the Operating Room by ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated assembled sterilized and ready for use across multiple specialties.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: February 9 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Schedule: Day Shift 5x8 hours
- Hours: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Pay: $25-$27
Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment
- Assemble wrap and prepare instrument trays and case carts
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD)
- Reprocess scopes and probes (preferred experience)
- Maintain accurate equipment documentation
- Support a variety of OR case types including General Surgery Orthopedics ENT GYN Plastics Urology and Vascular
- Adhere to infection control safety and quality standards
- Work collaboratively with surgical services and interdisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience
- Experience in an acute inpatient hospital setting
- Proficiency in multiple OR service lines
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current certification through IAHCSMM/HSPA or CBSPD
- Must hold a Florida or Compact license at time of submission
- All required certifications must be active at submission
