Our Hunt Valley MD office is seeking a Senior Transportation Structural Project Engineer to lead the design and management of transportation structure projects. This senior-level role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced environment and is passionate about designing bridges and transportation structures that shape our communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects from concept through completion
- Manage project scopes schedules and budgets to ensure high-quality on-time delivery
- Prepare contract documents technical specifications and construction phase services
- Coordinate with subconsultants clients and agency representatives
- Supervise and mentor design engineers and drafting personnel
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and project partners
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 12-20 years of relevant experience in structural design
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Maryland
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design
- Proven experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles for steel reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete components
- Excellent communication leadership and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 6 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based with occasional field or client visits as needed. The work environment is professional collaborative and supportive with an emphasis on quality innovation and teamwork.
