Renowned for handling complex business insurance and labor and employment cases the firm seeks an experienced motivated Paralegal to join its Labor and Employment practice.
The Labor and Employment Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in managing and supporting a challenging and diverse case load which includes complex wage and hour claims class actions and general employment litigation (e.g. discrimination wrongful termination harassment). This role requires a professional with exceptional organizational skills a strong grasp of California litigation procedure and a minimum of two years of direct experience in the labor and employment field.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Manage all phases of the discovery process including drafting propounding and responding to complex interrogatories requests for production of documents and requests for admission.
Assist in the preparation of client document productions privilege logs and e-discovery efforts.
Assist attorneys in drafting and preparing pleadings motions and oppositions including Motions for Summary Judgment demurrers and complex pre-trial filings.
Conduct legal and factual research including statutory case law and regulatory research related to state and federal employment laws (e.g. FLSA PAGA California Labor Code).
Assist with all aspects of trial and arbitration preparation including preparing exhibits witness lists exhibit logs pre-trial briefs and assisting with War Room and courtroom support as needed.
Maintain organize and track electronic and physical case files correspondence pleadings and discovery ensuring compliance with court rules and internal procedures.
Summarize deposition transcripts and draft deposition outlines.
Manage and calculate litigation deadlines and perform judicial profile research.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of two (2) years of dedicated paralegal experience in California Labor and Employment litigation is mandatory.
Experience handling wage and hour class actions is highly preferred.
Completion of an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Comprehensive understanding of the California Code of Civil Procedure California Rules of Court and federal litigation rules.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) Adobe Acrobat and litigation support software (e.g. e-discovery platforms document management systems).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills exceptional attention to detail strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
Salary: $75000 - $90000
Hybrid Work Schedule: Commitment to an in-office schedule of 34 days per week to foster collaboration and strengthen client service
