Job Summary
Description
RPO Recruitments client a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Gauteng with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction projects across Gauteng and neighbouring provinces is currently seeking a hardworking and motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation including bills of quantities.
- Measure quantities on-site and from drawings for interim valuations and final accounts.
- Support the procurement process for subcontractors and materials.
- Monitor project costs and assist in preparing cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify measured work.
- Liaise with site managers engineers subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist with the preparation of payment certificates for subcontractors.
- Support with change management including assessing variations and claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Civil/Building or BTech/BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Exposure to large civil engineering projects (bulk earthworks roads township services industrial developments concrete works pipelines culverts etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and general MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of CCS Candy
- Understanding of civil construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to various project locations.
- Eager to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits:
Salary: R240K R300K CTC per annum
