- Gather process analyse and report on all relevant spatial information
- Analysing Survey Data
- Reviewing reports and outputs for accuracy.
- Reconciling tonnage and ore reserves.
- Apply specialist knowledge to recommend implement operate and maintain appropriate technical systems.
- Preparing appropriate reports and documentation
- Preparing payments data
- Providing draughting information
- Issuing survey instructions and notifications
- Prepare and publish an approved Floor Spots Report for incentive payments.
- Measuring open pit excavations
- Manage and control RPAS supplier and validate data captured by drone equipment through thorough analysis of Pix-4D processed point cloud data.
- Performing open pit excavation measurements
- Installing survey pegs permanent and temporary
- Installing bench and ramp system grade boxes in accordance with the mine design layout.
- Issue an actual Summary of Floor Elevations at Loading Areas report to inform the mining department of loading deviations.
- Measuring excavations open pit.
- Working as a Survey Team
- Supervising survey teams
- Communicating with others in a verbal and non-verbal manner
- Ensuring team work expectations and plans are clear
- Ensuring high standard of housekeeping
- Completing role administration requirements
- Generating improvement ideas
- Participating in meetings
- Demonstrate safety leadership sustainable development and Valterra Platinum Values.
- Comply with appropriate risk mitigation and risk management systems
- Comply with all relevant legal environmental occupational health safety and risk management standards and leading practices.
This role is at a Band 7 level reporting to the Pit Surveyor.
Qualifications :
- Grade 12 with minimum 50% in math and Physical science
- Chamber of Mines certificate in Advanced Mine Survey and Chamber of Mines certificate in Mine Valuation
- Advantageous: National Diploma National Higher Diploma B-Tech or BSC in Survey or Geomatics B-Tech Mineral Resource Management
- Advantageous - RPAS Pilot License
Experience and knowledge
- A minimum of 4 years survey experience
- DESWIK systems experience
- Computer literacy
- Advantageous Pix4D and Modelmaker
