Position Summary
The Virtual Campus Support Assistant supports the efficient daily operations of the virtual school campus by providing responsive high-quality administrative and clerical assistance. Serving as the primary contact for students parents/guardians teachers and administrators this role ensures smooth communication accurate record-keeping and timely coordination of virtual campus activities. The Support Assistant helps maintain compliance with district and state requirements while fostering a professional welcoming and organized virtual learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Student & Family Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for students and families via phone email or virtual help desk.
- Provide guidance with enrollment withdrawals attendance and schedule adjustments.
- Assist families with navigating online platforms assignments and school resources.
- Direct inquiries to appropriate staff for academic counseling or technical support.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate attendance enrollment and student data in accordance with district and state regulations.
- Process digital forms report cards transcripts and other official records.
- Support staff with scheduling classes meetings and school events.
- Prepare and distribute newsletters announcements and other digital communications.
- Assist in compiling documentation related to truancy discipline and student services.
- Reconcile attendance using reports from the Online Learning System (e.g. BrightThinker).
Technology & Systems
- Provide basic troubleshooting and support for students and families using online learning tools such as Google Classroom Canvas Zoom Skyward and BrightThinker.
- Submit and monitor technology support requests.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of data entry within the Student Information System (SIS).
Campus Operations
- Assist in organizing and coordinating virtual events including assemblies tutoring sessions celebrations and graduations.
- Support testing coordination by maintaining rosters communications and schedules.
- Track and manage digital resources instructional materials and supply distributions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student information in compliance with FERPA and district policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or prior school office experience preferred.
- Experience working in a K12 school environment particularly in virtual or hybrid settings.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with SIS platforms such as PowerSchool or Skyward preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse students and families.
- Experience with ThrillShare and online learning platforms highly desirable.
- Ability to manage heavy call volume efficiently and courteously.
